We are an executive committee of “Nobel Peace Prize for Article 9”. We are engaged in signature-collecting campaigns (
http://chn.ge/1bNX7Hbasking to award the Nobel Peace Prize to "the Japanese people" who have continued maintaining the pacifist constitution, Article 9 in particular, up until present, in order to spread the pacifist constitution in all the countries of the world.

Article 9 stipulates renunciation of war and not maintaining military forces. We think that it is the irreplaceable precious treasure, the point where the cognition of humankind has arrived, and the heritage that should be handed down to posterity, which was born in result of the misery of the wars and the immeasurable sacrifice.

However, the Japanese Constitution is currently under the threat of being revised from pacifism to militarism.

For 68 years after the war, because of Article 9, we, the Japanese people, have never waged any wars and never killed and been killed in wars. Though other countries have tended to settle problems by use of force, we have continued maintaining Article 9, with repentance for and pain of the past war, as well as wish for happiness and peace in the world. We think that Article 9 will be able to contribute to security and peace of the world which has repeated wars.

To maintain Article 9 is will of many Japanese people. Since the Japanese Constitution was made, the Japanese people have never changed it. Moreover, many Japanese people have been committed to various movements and actions, in order to maintain and substantiate Article 9.

The Nobel Peace Prize is intended to be awarded to an organization or person, the Constitution is not eligible. However the EU was awarded Nobel Peace Prize as an organization. Thus, we think it is possible that "the Japanese people" as an organization, who have continued maintaining the pacifist constitution stipulating thorough renunciation of war, would be awarded it, similarly.

In order to nominate for the candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize, it is necessary that qualified nominator to submit nomination to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, by February 1 every year.
